T-MOBILE TO OFFER FOOTBALL THROUGH ON-DEVICE PORTAL
FIFA World Cup 2006 No Comments »The countdown to the kick off of the World Cup has begun as fans from all over Europe get ready to support their country’s team any way they can. Czech football fans at least will be able to follow all the action at anywhere and anytime directly on their mobile phone, free of charge. T-Mobile Czech Republic will be offering video clips of the main games to its customers within the highly popular videozona mobile on-device-portal (ODP), powered by U-Turn Media Group.
The football World Cup is a festive event and therefore we want our customers to be able to enjoy all the important moments with our national team at any time, wherever they happen to be. We are pleased that U-Turn’s technology has given us the opportunity to make this happen.†said Jiri Hajek, Vice President Corporate Communication at T-Mobile CZ.
T-Music Czech Republic is utilising U-Turn Media Group technology to power the videozona ODP that offers crystal clear audio & video playback of over 160 chart topping songs and is compatible with the Symbian, Java and Windows handset operating systems. Additionally, U-Turn has created a WAP version of the portal to further increase handset compatibility.
To date the videozona portal has proven to be incredibly popular with over 40,000 streamed clips being delivered since the launch of the service in October 2005. Currently, in addition to viewing streamed video and audio clips, customers can also purchase polyphonic ring-tones of their favourite artists from within the portal.
Further enhancing the regular music content, T-Mobile customers will now be able to watch four minute ‘best of’ video clips that will capture the highlights of matches taking place during the entire tournament for free.
“We are delighted that T-Mobile Czech Republic has embraced on-device-portal technology and is now utilising it to deliver the World Cup directly to the mobile screen,†said Dominic Bignall, CEO of U-Turn Media Group. “Our technology has given T-Mobile a great opportunity to connect with their customers through more than just voice services. We look forward to continuing our relationship with T-Mobile to provide the best in mobile video technology.â€
